About life is the fact that I (and you) exist. The second most amazing thing is the fact that God desires communion with me and you. Take a few moments to ponder that reality. The fact that we ARE and that God loves us. Both thoughts are really quite unfathomable, therefore we tend not to dwell on them much. Those kind of existential thoughts stretch our minds to the breaking point. But, isn’t that the essence of Christmas? “God became flesh and dwelt among us.” He cared enough about us to live, and love, and suffer for us, that we might spend all eternity with Him. Amazing… No wonder Jesus’ mother Mary’s heart was about to burst, pondering such thoughts. Merry Christmas!
