Not a haven for saints. Question: What is the church? Contrary to the misconception of the many, the church is not a haven for saints, not a meeting place for “perfect” people. The church is more like a “hospital” for sinners. And that includes you and me, everyone. For, as the apostle Paul said (claiming to be the greatest of sinners), “There is none righteous, no not one.” No one, whether a church member or not, is without sin and without the need of God’s redeeming and renewing love… on a regular basis. We are all in need of the encouragement of God’s Word and the fellowship of other believers. “Do not forsake the assembly of fellow believers.” Consider inviting a neighbor, or friend, or relative to Your church this Easter. And, if you’ve been absent for a while, know that God wants you back in order to demonstrate his everlasting love for you through other believers. God hasn’t moved. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
