Coincidentally (Providentially?) today’s “Read through the Bible” passage concerns the passage in Exodus where God speaks of the Angel of Death “passing over” the houses of the Israelites… If they are obedient to God and place the blood of an innocent lamb (a foreshadowing sign of Christ’s sacrifice) over their doors. The Israelites had not been a totally righteous people without sin (much like us). But in God’s love, His grace, He gave them life, just as we now have the gift of eternal life through the blood of Christ, if we are obedient and accept him as Lord. If we are capable of love, it’s because He first loved us. (Exodus 12, Matthew 5:17, Romans 6:23, John 3:16, 1 John 4:19)
